The movement of the slit-lamp biomicroscope laterally and in and out is controlled by the joystick. The vertical adjustment is accomplished by twisting the joystick-clockwise to raise and counter-clockwise to lower. The button on the top of the joystick is to take a photograph.
The unit can be locked so it does not move by the knob on the sliding rod near the front, base of the unit. This should be locked when not in use so the unit is not damaged when it is swung out of the way if on the stand or when the table is moved.
